Groups

Devices, Users, People, Areas, POIs and Overlays may be grouped to enable better management of your tracking and IVMS operations. 

 

Grouping allows specific Groups to be displayed simply on the map, enables reports to be run against specific Groups and helps with the set-up and management of Alerts.


Groups are not exclusive and an entity can belong to more than one group at the same time.

 

Some examples where Groups may be useful include:


• Users may be configured to be able to see only one group of Devices (for example only the Devices in the project they are responsible for).


• Alerts for a particular group of Devices may be configured to go to only a certain group of Users.


• POIs may be grouped to allow rapid display of all relevant information (e.g. all medical facilities in a particular location)


• Vehicle installed Devices may be grouped together for the purposes of reporting.


To set up or edit a Group, select the management tab, select the required entity then Groups and add / amend as necessary.
